CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard women's tennis team moved to 2-0 with a 6-1 victory against Miami (Ohio) at the Murr Center Courts Friday afternoon.
The Crimson began the afternoon earning the doubles point, thanks to a crucial 6-4 win for junior Natasha Gonzalez and first-year Annika Bassey at No. 2.
In singles play, Harvard earned a convincing 6-2, 6-2 win from junior Jenna Friedel over Miami's Jordan Ortega Mendez at No. 2. First-year Rachel Eason defeated Milana Lysova, 3-6, 7-6(5), 1-0(12) in comeback fashion while Gonzalez scored her second victory of the afternoon with a 6-1, 6-7(4), 1-0(5) victory against Emily Struble. Juniors Lexi Milunovich and Irene Lu both earned convincing two-set victories to round out the top-six.
