WEST POINT, N.Y. – Harvard Women's Tennis enjoyed a strong first day at the ITA Northeast Regionals in West Point, N.Y. The Crimson went 2-0 on the day in its singles matches, while winning two of its three doubles competitions.
In the Round of 64 for the doubles competitions, the first-year Crimson duo of
Rachel Arbitman and
Holly Fischer picked up an 8-1 win over Providence's Katie Mulvey and Vannelie Melendez to advance to the next round.
In the Round of 32, Arbitman and Fischer battled their way to a tiebreaker against Chloe Yoo and Nicole Conard of Dartmouth before bowing out in a tiebreaker, 8-7(5).

Angel You earned a bye through the Round of 64 and found themselves in a Round of 32 matchup with Connecticut's Aleksandra Karamyshev and Isabel Petri-Bere. The duo worked their way to an 8-6 victory over UConn and secured themselves a spot in Saturday's Round of 16, against Massachusetts's Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul.
In the singles Round of 128, first-year
Iveta Daujotaite fought back to defeat Scarlett Hutchinson of Fairfield after dropping the first set, for a final tally of 6-7(4), 6-2, (10-8). Daujotaite advances to the Round of 64 where she will take on Rhode Island's Nadia Rajan tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
First-year
Angel You also competed in the Round of 128 singles competition, she took on Paulina Feoli of the host school Army and earned a hard-fought 6-3, 4-6, (10-6) victory. You will advance to play Bryant's Olivia Rodini in the Round of 64 tomorrow.
Arbitman, Fischer and Lim did not compete in the singles matches today and were granted a Round of 128 bye. They will compete tomorrow morning in the Round of 64.
