Maxi Duncan Advances to Second Round of ITA Northeast Super Regionals

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Harvard Women's Tennis team was represented in the ITA Northeast Super Regionals this weekend by four athletes who qualified two weekends ago at the ITA Northeast Regionals in West Point, N.Y.

First-year Maxi Duncan advanced to the Round of 16 in the singles draw with a great performance over Princeton's Stephanie Schrage, winning in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.

In the doubles draw, Duncan paired up with teammate and sophomore Iveta Daujotaite. The duo prevailed to be one of the final eight doubles teams remaining, besting Buffalo's Nikoleta Antoniou-Karademitrou and Pia Schwartz, 6-2, 6-3.

Daujotaite faced-off with top-seeded Victoria Hu of Princeton, but was unable to advance to the second round, ultimately falling in singles, 6-3, 6-3.

Duncan will take on Yale's Chelsea Kung in the second round of the singles draw tomorrow.
