CAMBRIDGE, Mass – The Harvard Women's Tennis team began play in the Harvard Invitational against Wisconsin this afternoon at the Murr Center.
Harvard went a perfect 4-0 in their doubles matches on the day in what was a great showing from the Crimson duos.
The pair of
Maxi Duncan and
Iveta Daujotaite, as well as
Angel You and
Mihaela Marculescu, both earned their wins in a tiebreak, over Wisconsin's Ava Markham and Ariel Johnson 7-6(4), and Alina Mukhortova and Natasha Semenovski 7-6(2), respectively.
The team of
Rachel Lim and
Sany Gawande notched a win 6-4, over Taylor Cataldi and Antonela Stoica of Wisconsin.
Demi Snyder and
Kayla Leschly earned their doubles win over the Badger duo of Mia Larrain and Charmaine Seah, 6-4.
In the singles competitions,
Rachel Lim edged out Wisconsin's Charmaine Seah in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 11-9.
Rachel Arbitman picked up a hard-fought three set win of her own, outlasting Wisconsin's Alina Mukhortova, 6-2, 3-6, 12-10.
Next Up:
The Crimson will take on another Big Ten opponent in Minnesota tomorrow, Nov. 5, at 3:30 p.m., at the Murr Center in Cambridge.
