CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard Women's Tennis team finished out its fall season with a great performance against Boston College Sunday afternoon at the Murr Center Tennis Courts. It marked the third matchup between the Crimson and Eagles this fall.
Harvard managed to grab two of the three doubles competitions and five of six in singles during its fall 2021 finale.
The duo of
Iveta Daujotaite and
Rachel Lim, as well as
Rachel Arbitman and
Holly Fischer, bested the Boston College pairing of Sophia Edwards-Hailey Wilcox and Natasha Irani-Muskan Mahajan, 7-5 and 6-3, respectively.
In singles, first-year
Maxi Duncan picked up another win to strengthen her fall resume, this time over the Boston College senior Laura Lopez in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
Three more Crimson finished with straight-set wins. Daujotaite defeated Edwards, 6-3, 7-5.
Amy Huang earned a win over Wilcox, 6-4, 6-3. Meanwhile,
Sophia Ho prevailed over Mahajan, 6-3, 6-2.
Lastly, first-year
Holly Fischer earned a hard-fought victory over Irani, using a second-set tie-break to secure her win, 6-3, 7-6(4).
