Beau Bayless each went 2-1 as Harvard University wrestling advanced three student-athletes to the second day of the 2021 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Friday at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Competing on day one of two at an invitational that featured 12 ranked teams, Slavikouski won all three of his matches at 285 pounds to advance to the semifinals and secure his spot as a placer. Conigliaro won each of his first two bouts to reach the quarterfinals at 165 pounds before dropping a decision in sudden victory. Bayless won back-to-back matchups in consolation competition at 125 pounds to remain in contention.
Harvard Highlights
- Junior Yaraslau Slavikouski – ranked No. 15 in the nation at 285 pounds and seeded at No. 4 for the event – opened competition with a 17-0 technical fall over Jake Andrews of CSU Bakersfield. He followed that with a 10-1 major decision over Columbia's Daniel Conley. In the quarterfinals, he topped No. 5 seed Lucas Davison of Northwestern, 5-3. Slavikouski will meet No. 1 seed Tate Orndorff of Ohio State in the semifinals Saturday.
- Sophomore Philip Conigliaro – ranked No. 12 in the country at 165 pounds and seeded at No. 5 for CKLV – began competition with a 5-3 win over Oregon State's Matthew Olguin. He then topped Kent State's Brady Chrisman, 8-3, before dropping a 3-1 decision in sudden victory to No. 4 seed Cameron Amine of Michigan in the quarterfinals. Congiliaro will take on No. 9 seed Joseoh Grello of Oklahoma in the consolation on Sunday.
- Junior Beau Bayless won twice in the consolation rounds at 125 pounds to reach day two. After falling to No. 5 seed Joe Manchio of Columbia, 3-2, Bayless responded with a 9-0 major decision over The Citadel's Jordan White and an 8-2 decision over Nebraska's Jeremiah Reno. Bayless will face No. 7 seed Jacob Allen of Navy in the consolation Sunday.
- Sophomore Joshua Kim – ranked No. 30 in the country at 174 pounds and seeded No. 12 – opened with an 11-3 major decision over Cole Burke of The Citadel before dropping a 3-1 decision to No. 4 seed Hayden Hastings of Wyoming. Kim answered with a 7-2 win over California Baptist's Louis Rojas before dropping a 9-1 major decision to No. 12 seed Tyler Eischens of Stanford.
- At 149 pounds, senior Lukus Stricker earned a 12-6 win over Chaz Hallmark of California Baptist in consolation competition.
- The Crimson totaled 10 wins on day one at CKLV, including four bonus-point wins with three major decisions and a technical fall. Harvard's three ranked wrestlers – Conigliaro, Kim, and Slavikouski – went 7-3 on the day with two major decisions and a technical fall.
- In the team standings, Harvard stands 18th out of 26 schools with 18.5 points.
