Women's Tennis Continues Fall Success on Day Two of Harvard Fall Classic

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard Women's Tennis put on another great performance in their second day of competition at the Harvard Fall Classic, taking on Providence and Boston College. After a strong showing yesterday, the Crimson didn't miss a beat in its performance during the doubleheader.

In the morning match against Providence, the Crimson played in mid-season form, winning four of six singles matches while getting the best of the Friars in the doubles matches as well.

The pair of Demi Snyder and Sany Gawande picked up an 8-2 win and the duo of Lauryn Wu and Amy Huang grabbed a victory as well, emerging with an 8-1 decision.

In singles, Harvard won four of six matches with Wu winning in convincing fashion by a score of 6-0, 6-1 in Flight B.

In Flight A, Gawande battled to a victory by a score of 5-7, 6-2, 10-6. Chelsea Williams, meanwhile, left no doubt in her singles match winning in two sets, 6-0, 6-0.

In Flight B, Snyder continued her fantastic start with another win over Providence's Vannelie Melendez, 6-1, 6-1. 

In the afternoon match against Boston College, the Crimson put up great scores across the board.

First-year Angel You recorded her first win as a member of the Crimson in the doubles match with Rachel Lim, 8-5. 

Sophia Ho won her singles match over Boston College's Hailey Wilcox, 7-5, 6-0, while Rachel Lim picked up a win, 6-2, 6-0.

Harvard Highlights

  • In Fllight A, first-years Maxi Duncan and Rachel Arbitman picked up their first career singles wins, 6-4, 6-1, and 7-5, 6-2, respectively. 
  • Sany Gawande remains unbeaten between her two singles and doubles appearances.
