Pair of Harvard Women's Squash Alums Named to the College Squash Hall of Fame Class of 2022

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – This past week, the College Squash Association announced the College Squash Hall of Fame Class of 2022 inductees.  Of the four women named to the Class of 2022, two are former Harvard Women's Squash standouts, Diana Edge Dowling '88 and Kyla Grigg Workman '07.

About Diana Edge Dowling '88

Dowling earns her spot in the College Squash Hall of Fame after a decorated four-year career apart of Harvard Women's Squash from 1984 to 1988.  Dowling started strong and did not let up throughout her time at Harvard being a letterwinner, first-team All-America, and first-team All-Ivy League each of her four years.
In addition, Dowling never dropped out of the top five of the CSA rankings throughout her career.  Her lowest ranking of 5th came in her first year, followed by No. 2 rankings in 1985-86 and 1986-87, and rounded out being the top ranked women's squash player in her senior season of 1987-88.  The alums rankings from 1985-88 coincide with her performances in the individual championships.  Dowling was the runner-up at the championships in her sophomore and junior seasons before taking home the crown to finish out her career.  Rounding out individual accolades, Dowling won the Betty Richey Award in 1988, the most prestigious individual honor in women's collegiate squash.
During Dowling's tenure, the Crimson thrived in Ivy and national play.  Harvard won the Howe Cup and the WIRSA Team Championship in each of Dowling's four years, accumulating a near perfect record of 26-1 from 1984-88.  Dowling also served as a captain for the team in the 1986-87 and 1987-88 seasons.

About Kyla Grigg Workman '07

Workman earns her spot in the College Squash Hall of Fame following a tremendous career spanning from 2004-2007.  In each of her three seasons Workman was a letterwinner, first-team All-America, and first-team All-Ivy League.
In her senior campaign, Workman led the Crimson, serving as team captain for the 2006-07 season.  On the court in 2006-07, Workman performed phenomenally winning an individual championship, earning Ivy League Player of the Year, and being ranked No. 1 in the CSA top ten rankings.  Workman climbed in the ranks every year, ranking No. 3 in the 2004-05 season and No. 2 in the 2005-06 season before ultimately claiming the top spot in her final year.  Workman also competed in the finals of the individual championship every year, earning runner-up before claiming the title senior year.
Throughout Workman three-year career at Harvard the Crimson placed in the top three in the Howe Cup, won an Ivy League championship in 2005-06 and recorded an overall record of 27-7, winning nine matches every season.

On the women's side, Dowling and Workman join Jessica DiMauro (Penn '99) and Berkeley Belknap (Yale '92) to make up the Class of 2022.  The four will be honored at the women's team championships, hosted by Penn in February 2023.
