CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win over Boston University on Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Murr Center Indoor Courts. With the win, the Crimson improved to 2-1 on the year, while the Terriers dropped to 1-3.
 
The Crimson used four singles wins to capture the victory after earning the doubles point early on. The duos of Sophia Ho and Maxi Duncan, and Angel You and Iveta Daujotaite won by scores of 6-4 and 6-3, respectively. 
 
With the doubles point in hand, Harvard dropped a decision at No. 2 singles, but nudged ahead in the overall team score after Mihaela Marculescu earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Michelle Kleynerman.
 
BU leveled the score with a decision at No. 4, only to have Duncan push the Crimson ahead once again, 3-2, with her hard-fought 7-6, 6-2 win vs. Erica Di Battista at the top of the order.
 
You, meanwhile, fought for a comeback win to grab the clinching point for Harvard, defeating Terrier Shelly Yaloz at No. 5. You dropped the first set before rallying to grab the next two for a final tally of 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. 
 
Rachel Eason provided the final margin with her win over BU's Sydney Sharma in three sets, 6-0, 6-7, 6-3.
