CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis team (3-1) took care of business in their first-ever meeting with Sacred Heart, winning each set to shutout the Pioneers 7-0.
 
Traci Green, The Sheila Kelly Palandijan Head Coach for Women's Tennis, reached 150 wins in her career with the Crimson. She is the second coach in Harvard women's tennis history to reach the milestone.
 
The Crimson earned the doubles point early on. The duo of Kayla Leschly and Annika Bassey saw their first action of the year, with their match getting stopped at 3-3. Angel You and Iveta Daujotaite picked up where they left off in the morning against Boston University with a 6-2 win, and Rachel Lim and Mihaela Marculescu avenged their early morning loss vs. BU with a 6-1 triumph.
 
With the doubles point on the board, Sany Gawande jump started the Crimson's winning ways in singles with a swift 6-1, 6-1 victory over Flavia Rambaldi of Sacred Heart at No. 4.
 
Leschly followed right behind to put Harvard up 3-0 with a straight-set victory over Ana Sofia Angeles Sanchez of the Pioneers, 6-4, 6-0, at fifth singles.
 
Senior co-captain Chelsea Williams earned the clinching point for the Crimson in her first competition of the season, winning, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 6.
 
Rounding out the day for Harvard, Rachel Arbitman (No. 2), Daujotaite (No. 3) and Mihaela Marculescu (No. 1) earned wins of their own to solidify the 7-0 victory.
 
Harvard Highlights

• Angel You and Iveta Daujotaite finished the day with a 2-0 record in their doubles competitions against BU and Sacred Heart.
• Chelsea Williams, Kayla Leschly and Rachel Arbitman all earned wins in their first appearance of the season.
• Mihaela Marculescu reached a team-high three singles wins on the year.
