Women's Lacrosse Ends Florida Trip With 21-8 Loss to No. 20 Jacksonville

Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Maddie Barkate, Riley Campbell, and Callie Hem each recorded a pair of goals for the Crimson as Harvard women's lacrosse concluded its spring break trip to Florida with a 21-8 loss to No. 20 Jacksonville.

Harvard led 2-1 in the early stages of the contest, as Barkate scored twice in a span of just over a minute to give the Crimson the lead. Her first score came on a rebound chance at 10:42 to tie the game at 1-1.

Then moments later, Harvard disrupted a Jacksonville clear attempt, which led to a quick goal in transition for Barkate again at 9:34.

But Jacksonville responded with an eight-goal run spanning the rest of the first quarter and into the early stages of the second to take a 9-2 lead. Goals by Campbell (13:48) and Grace Hulslander (6:38) on a great diving shot off a setup by Campbell interrupted the run by Jacksonville, which led 13-4 at the break.

Harvard stayed in touch in the third quarter, as Campbell added her second of the afternoon, and Hem scored twice in the frame, the second on a free position shot at 4:12 to cut the Jacksonville lead to 15-7.

But a four-goal run for the host Dolphins spanning into the early stages of the fourth quarter put the game out of reach for good.
