Women's Heavyweight Rowing

Radcliffe Heavyweight Rowing Starts Strong at the Ivy/BIG 10 Duals

CAMDEN, N.J. - In its first Spring race since the 2019 season, the Radcliffe Heavyweight Rowing team split contests against BIG 10 foes, Michigan State and Iowa. The Black and White earned victories in all three races against the Spartans to start the day, outpacing the Michigan State Varsity Eight boat by more than five seconds. Int he second session against the Hawkeyes, the Radcliffe heavyweights won the 2nd Varsity Eight as well as the Varsity Four race but fell in the main Varsity Eight race. The lead eights boat clocked times of 6:37.9 in the win and 6:38.9 in the loss. 

The second Varsity Eight boat preformed well in both its races on the day, finishing first in both contests while clocking times of 6:47.1 and 6:49.5. 

In Varsity Fours action, the 4A boat captured two victories in both events, recording nearly equal times of 7:31.9 and 7:31.6 respectively.

The Harvard-Radcliffe Heavyweights return to action next weekend when they host Brown for a regatta on the Charles River.
