CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 71 Harvard women's tennis team (9-7) picked up its third consecutive win this afternoon over Hofstra, 7-0, at the Murr Center Indoor Courts.
The Crimson jumped on the Pride early and did not look back, winning all three of the doubles matches to grab a 1-0 lead, before winning each of the singles matches in straight sets.
The duo of
Maxi Duncan and
Holly Fischer earned a 6-3 win, while
Rachel Lim-
Rachel Arbitman and
Iveta Daujotaite-
Angel You both picked up 6-2 victories.
In the singles action,
Sophia Ho earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the No. 1 spot and
Rachel Eason grabbed a swift 6-1, 6-0 triumph at the No. 2 spot.
At No. 3 and No. 4,
Mihaela Marculescu and
Rachel Lim earned 6-2, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-1 wins, respectively.
Sany Gawande (6-1, 6-3) and
Iveta Daujotaite (6-2, 6-4) were both able to pick up victories as well.
Harvard Highlights
- The Crimson have won three consecutive matches heading into Ivy League play.
- The rest of Harvard's regular season schedule consists of Ivy League contests.
- This was the second time this season that the Crimson has won each doubles match and each singles match in straight sets.
