NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 73 Harvard women's tennis team (12-11, 3-4 Ivy League) was narrowly beaten by No. 62 Yale in the regular season finale at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
The Crimson was unable to earn the doubles point and split the six singles matches leading to the 4-3 defeat.
Holly Fischer earned a 6-3, 6-1, win over the Bulldogs' Caroline Dunleavy at the No. 2 spot.
Rachel Eason won her last career match with the Crimson at the No. 4 spot, outlasting Rhea Shrivastava of Yale by a score of, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.
Sany Gawande earned the third win for Harvard with a swift 6-4, 6-3 victory over Kathy Wang of Yale.
The match came down to a three-set battle at the No. 3 spot. With the match tied at three,
Mihaela Marculescu won the first set and battled into the third set with Jessie Gong of Yale, before being edged for a final tally of 6-3, 4-6, 4-6.
