Women's Heavyweight Rowing Places Fifth At Eastern Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. - The No. 15 women's heavyweight rowing team finished fifth overall out of eighteen teams that competed at the Women's Eastern Sprints Invitational at Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday, April 30. 

HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Crimson sent five boats to compete: Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, Varsity 4, Varsity 4 B,Varsity Four C. All five boats competed in Grand Final of their boat category. 
  • The Varsity 4 was the first race of the day for the Crimson and the first and only Crimson boat that won their heat. The Varsity 4 competed in the Grand Final where they finished in third place with a time of 7:14.73, claiming the teams first medal of the day. 
  • The Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 both finished in second place in their respective heats. It was the Second Varsity 8 that claimed another medal in the Grand Final finishing third with a time of 6:37.04.
