BALTIMORE, Md. -  Devon Wills, The Carole Kleinfelder Head Coach for Harvard Women's Lacrosse, was officially inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame this past weekend in Baltimore. A decorated coach and athlete, Wills joined Harvard in the summer of 2018 as head coach of the women's lacrosse program. 
Officially introduced by Associate Head Coach Becca Block, Wills was honored on Saturday evening for all her remarkable accomplishments in her collegiate, professional, and international career. 

An Ivy League athlete, Wills studied and played at Dartmouth where she left her mark in the cage. Wills was named to the All-Ivy team in all four years as a member of the Big Green and was also a three-time IWLCA All-America Second-Team honoree. 
  
Professionally, Wills became the first female player to be drafted to the Major Lacrosse League after being selected by the Long Island Lizards. Wills was also selected by the Long Island Sound with the second overall pick in the inaugural United Women's Lacrosse League Draft. Wills led her club to the first-ever UWLX championship after posting an 8.29 GAA and a 6-1 record. Wills made eight saves in the championship game in a 13-8 victory where she was named MVP. 
 
Widely regarded as one of the world's elite goalies, Wills was a goalie for the U.S. National Team from 2007-17. One of the most decorated athletes in U.S. National Team history, Wills first competed for the United States at the Prague Cup before winning world championships in 2009, 2013, and 2017 at the FIL World Cup.
 
At the 2009 FIL World Cup, Wills was named Player of the Match in the team's 8-7 victory over Australia in the championship game. Wills returned as a member of the U.S. squad in 2013 and captained the 2017 team that claimed a record seventh and eighth world championship. At the 2013 World Cup, Wills started all seven games, posted a 5.58 GAA, and won Player of the Match in the 2013 title game. Wills also earned All-World honors in 2013 and 2017.

Wills joined Harvard in the summer of 2018, has 24 wins in her four seasons to date, and coached numerous All-Ivy, All-IWLCA, and All-America athletes. In 2023, Harvard made its second straight appearance in the Ivy League Tournament after finishing the season with an 8-2 record in its last 10 games. 
 
The 10 wins in 2023 marked the most for the program since 2017, including a win over Ivy rival and the nationally ranked Yale Bulldogs at Jordan Field. During the 2023 season, Harvard went on a six-game win streak – its longest since 1996. Nationally, the Crimson finished the year with 18.67 ground balls per game which was good for No. 8 in Division I. 

Harvard opens the season in 40 days as it will face Colgate in the home opener at Jordan Field. 

Wills joins Lynn Burnes Bowers, John Danowski, Katie Chrest Erbe, Kyle Harrison, Laura Hebert, Bob Shaw, and Kyle Sweeney in the Class of 2023.
