CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard fencing alum
Eli Dershwitz '19 will represent the United States at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, as the Sheborn, Mass. native will head to his third Olympic Games, competing at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics previously. Dershwitz will compete in the individual and team portions of the men's saber bracket in Paris.
Since graduating from Harvard, Dershwtiz orchestrated an incredible career on the strip. Last year, Dershwitz made history, becoming the first American to capture the World Saber Champion title. In the International Fencing Federation's world rankings, Dershwitz currently ranks sixth in men's saber, the top-ranked American fencer.
In his collegiate career, Dershwitz captured back-to-back NCAA Men's Saber National Championships in 2017 and 2018, ending his Crimson career with 32 consecutive victories on the strip.
The 2023 Paris Summer Olympics begin on Friday, July 26 and end on Sunday, Aug. 11.
