Women's Heavyweight Rowing's Serra Wins Silver Medal at U23 World Championship

St. CATHERINE'S, Ontario –– Harvard-Radcliffe women's heavyweight rower Kathryn Serra '27 earned a silver medal at the U23 World Rowing Championships in the U.S. women's eight this past weekend.

Racing took place in St. Catharine's, Ontario in the waterfront village of Port Dalhousie, the same racecourse as the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta. Racing ran from August 18-23.

Serra and the U.S. finished first in heat one on Aug. 18, advancing the boat to the final on Friday, Aug. 23.

The Miami, Florida native sat in the three seat of the U.S. boat, as it finished 0.26 seconds ahead of Germany to secure second place in the final.

Also representing the Black and White at the championships, Aurelia Elliott '26 sat in the three seat of the Canadian women's coxed four. She placed fourth overall.

Elliott and Serra both raced in the Harvard-Radcliffe varsity eight for the majority of the spring 2024 season, including at the Ivy League Championships.
