FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Harvard women's rugby defeated Sacred Heart on the road on Friday, Sept. 13, winning 25-20. The Crimson improved to 2-0-1.
With 1:30 remaining in the second half, Harvard made a critical push towards the try zone after a turnover, with a significant run from junior Victoria Stanley. Junior Lennox London scored her second try of the match, giving the Crimson the lead.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lennox London opened the game with a try for Harvard. Senior Chloe Headland converted the try, making it 7-0.
- Headland later converted a penalty kick in the middle of the first half, extending the lead to 10-3.
- In the second half, Reese Morgan broke away from a tackle and scored, further extending the Crimson lead.
- Despite Sacred Heart leveling the game with a try and a penalty kick, Harvard responded with time remaining. Lennox London scored her seventh try of the year to secure the lead and the win for Harvard.
