AMHERST, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis opened up play at the Minutewomen Invitational with a number of impressive results on day one. The Crimson won seven of its nine total matches on the day including five singles wins and two wins in doubles play.
The Crimson's day began with action on the doubles courts. Two Harvard duos won in convincing fashion to pick up the first victories of the afternoon.
Rachel Arbitman and Kayva Karra teamed up for a 6-0 victory while
Natalie Block and
Charlotte Owensby earned the other straight set win.
Angel You and Anna-Raphëlle Serghi also had success on the doubles courts, winning their match, 7-5.
In singles action Block dropped the least amount of games, winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. Owensby and Serghi also won in straight sets, both recording 7-6, 6-1, victories. Kayva Karra also earned a win on the day, defeating her opponent in a tiebreak, 5-7, 6-1 (7).
