CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 16 Harvard men's water polo dropped both games on Sunday after a back-and-forth game with No. 6 Pacific before falling to Fordham in an exhibition later in the afternoon. The Crimson finish the opening weekend with a 2-2 record and will head to Princeton next weekend for three games at DeNunzio Pool.
In the early game, the Crimson battled back from an early 3-0 deficit and had to come from behind multiple times in the second half. Down by one with less than thirty seconds to go, the Harvard defense got a stop and gave the offense one more chance to tie the game. After calling a timeout, the Crimson hit the post as time expired.
The Crimson pulled the Fordham lead to 7-6 late in the first half but was unable to complete the comeback after falling to the Rams 18-11.
