WACO, TX – Harvard women's tennis fell to the Baylor Bears, 7-0, in its season opener this afternoon in Texas.
The Crimson battled in doubles, nearly stealing the point to open the match.
Holly Fischer and
Charlotte Owensby collected the sole Harvard victory of the day, defeating Sierra Berry and Wenfei Yu (Baylor) at the No. 3 position, 6-2.
Natalie Block and
Maxi Duncan pressured at the No. 2 spot but ultimately fell, 6-4, to give the Bears the doubles point.
While up 1-0 in the match, Baylor continued its momentum into singles, collecting wins down the line. Despite falling at the No. 6 spot,
Natalie Block forced the No. 118 nationally ranked singles player to a tiebreaker in the second set as she looked to grab a point for the Crimson.
