CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis recorded six strong wins in the first day of the main draws at the ITA New England Regionals.
Beginning the day in doubles, the duos of
Kavya Karra/
Stephanie Yakoff and
Charlotte Owensby/Kim posted dominant wins. The Crimson duos, seeded at one and two, respectively, won by scores of 8-0 and 8-1.
Moving into singles action, Harvard recorded four wins in five matches played. Karra kicked things off with a convincing 6-0, 6-1 victory over Isabella Camacho (Boston College).
Stephanie Yakoff followed closely behind with her own 6-1, 6-2 defeat of Julie Holte (Stonehill).
Claire Shao remained undefeated on the year with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Josephine Lombardi (Dartmouth).
Charlotte Owensby recorded the final victory of the afternoon, following her opponent's retirement. The senior led 4-2 in the third set when the match was retired.
