CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Charlotte Owensby of Harvard women's tennis remains in both the singles and doubles draws of the Ivy League Qualifier Tournament heading into day three of the weekend. 

Alongside first-year teammate Claire Shao, the Crimson duo has cruised to three victories in the opening two days of competition.  The pairing won its first two matches by 8-3 results before knocking off the top-seeded duo this afternoon. 

Owensby and Shao won a gritty battle over Malak El Allami and Sophia Wang of Columbia to advance to the finals of the draw.  The Harvard duo first battled through the opening set, winning 7-4 in tiebreakers.  After falling 6-3 in the second set, Owensby and Shao responded to win the third set tiebreaker, 10-5. 

In singles, Owensby has won three straight matches, each in straight sets, to advance to the semifinals of the draw.  On the opening day of the tournament, Owensby won two contests while dropping just four total games. 

Owensby will open the day by taking on the top-seeded singles player, Malak El Allami (Columbia), at 10:30 a.m. ET.  Owensby and Shao will then take on Esha Velaga/Jo-Leen Saw (Penn) in the doubles final. 

On the first day of competition, Claire Shao, Kavya Karra, and Polina Krumkachev also advanced out of the first round of the bracket.
