CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis collected five total wins across singles and doubles action as it completed the first day of the Harvard Fall Invitational
Kavya Karra and
Natasha Rajaram started the day for the Crimson as they collected the only doubles victory against Tola Glowacka and Nadia Barteck (Boston College). The Harvard duo battled in the contest, eventually securing the 7-5 victory.
Moving into singles the Crimson recorded four more victories from Karra,
Claire Shao,
Andra Braicu, and
Kate Kim.
Braicu was appearing for the first time in her collegiate career and put up a convincing win over Alexandra Torre (Boston College). The first-year registered a pair of 6-3 results to secure her first win with the Crimson.
Shao and Karra each improved to 7-2 on the year as they dropped their opponents in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6 and 6-2, 6-4, respectively.
Kim collected the final victory of the day, battling through a third set tiebreakers against Bella Camacho (Boston College). After winning the first set 6-2 the junior narrowly fell in tiebreakers in the second set. Kim regrouped and won 10-6 in the tiebreak to win the match.
