SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Charlotte Owensby and Claire Shao fell in a battle against the seven-seed in the opening round of the ITA Conference Masters this evening in San Diego, Calif.

The Harvard duo pulled in front early, winning the first set 6-3 over Isabelle Tanjuatco and Sarah Shahbaz (Ball State). 

The Cardinals pairing bounced back with 6-4 victory in the second set.

The match would then go on to be decided in a third set tiebreaker.  Owensby and Shao continued to push the seeded duo but ultimately fell, 15-13. 

The Crimson duo will now compete in the consolation bracket tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. PT/2:00 p.m. ET.
