PROVIDENCE, R.I. –
Caroline Mullahy set the Ivy League record for most assists in a hard-fought defeat to Brown on Saturday afternoon.
Falling to the Bears 12-10, Harvard took an early 4-1 lead in the game but could not hold off a big second half from Brown to fall to 1-2 in Ivy League play.
Caroline Mullahy broke the Ivy League record for most career assists after finding
Hannah Shiels for the second Crimson goal of the game. With two assists in the game, Mullahy now has 127 career assists as she looks to become the first player in Ivy League history to have 130+ helpers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Harvard took an early 4-1 lead after
Charlotte Hodgson,
Hannah Shiels,
Caroline Mullahy, and
Tori Balser had the Crimson off and running.
Brown responded with two quick goals before a pair of Crimson goals from
Grace Mullahy and
Stella Shea protected the Crimson lead.
The Bears took over in the second half after outscoring the Crimson 8-4 in the final thirty minutes of action.
Caroline Mullahy's 14th goal of the season, making it 8-7, was the last lead the Crimson would have in the game.
Brown went on to score five of the next seven goals, with
Tori Balser netting the Crimson's last goal of the game to pull the Crimson within two goals late in the game.
