Women’s Tennis Battles Past Dartmouth, 4-3

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis (9-8, 1-0 Ivy) won its Ivy opener over Dartmouth (7-9, 0-1 Ivy) this afternoon, battling to a 4-3 decision.

Rachel Arbitman and Angel You continued their doubles domination, improving to 6-1 on the season with a 6-4 win at court three. However, Harvard dropped the doubles point with losses at the top two courts.

The Crimson rallied, securing four singles victories to steal the match and collect their first conference win of the season. Stephanie Yakoff looked strong at court two, defeating Michela Moore (Dartmouth) in straight sets (6-3, 6-2).

Harvard then won each match in the second half of the lineup, beginning with Maxi Duncan at the No. 4 spot, defeating her opponent with identical 6-3 sets.

Kavya Karra followed with Harvard's third straight-set victory of the day, defeating Brooke Hess (Dartmouth), 6-4, 6-2, at court five.

Natalie Block ultimately clinched the match in a three-set thriller at the No. 6 position. The sophomore began with a 6-4 opening-set win before narrowly falling in a tiebreaker in the second. Block regrouped and secured another 6-4 set to seal Harvard's win over the Big Green.
