CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis (6-7, 0-0 Ivy) started its weekend in the win column as it dropped UMass (4-4, 0-0 A10), 5-0, in an in-state match up.
The Crimson began the day by gaining the advantage, taking the doubles point with wins at court one and three.
Holly Fischer and
Stephanie Yakoff teamed up for the first time this season, dropping their opponent with ease at the top court, 6-2. The captain's duo of
Rachel Arbitman and
Angel You followed to remain undefeated on the year with a 6-3 win.
Harvard continued to be a dominant presence in singles, winning each of its matches in straight sets. Fischer and
Charlotte Owensby led the way at the top of ladder, dropping just three and four games, respectively, in their victories.
Sophomore
Kate Kim recorded her first win as she appeared in the lineup for the third time this season. Kim tallied a pair of 6-2 results to defeat Amelia Tye (UMass) at court four.
Kavya Karra marked the final Crimson point of the afternoon, cruising past her opponent at the No. 6 spot by not falling in a single game.
