ITHACA, NY – Harvard women's tennis finished Ivy League play undefeated for the first time since 2006 with a 4-2 win over Cornell this afternoon.
The Big Red started in front with a pair of 6-2 victories at the No. 1 and 3 doubles spots.
Despite being down 1-0, the Crimson looked dominant in singles play beginning with a strong 6-0, 6-2 victory at the top spot from
Holly Fischer.
Charlotte Owensby followed at court three with another convincing victory. After stealing the opening set, 7-5, the junior blanked her opponent in the second set to claim a straight set win.
Maxi Duncan provided the final straight set win of the day, winning at the No. 5 spot with a 6-3, 6-1 performance.
Kavya Karra ultimately sealed the match with a come-from-behind win at court six. After falling 6-0 in the first set, Karra bounced back with a 6-1, 6-3 second and third set to clinch the Harvard win.
