CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis picked up a crucial 4-2 victory over Princeton this afternoon to stay undefeated in conference play.
Harvard looked strong in doubles to open the day, grabbing wins at the court one and three.
Holly Fischer and
Stephanie Yakoff, who were an unstoppable duo last season, teamed up for just the third time today and recorded a 6-3 win at the top court. The captains' duo of
Rachel Arbitman and
Angel You finalized doubles as it improved to 7-1 with a 6-4 victory.
In singles, Fischer (7-5, 6-4) and Yakoff (6-4, 6-3) both collected their second wins of the day, earning straight set victories at the top two courts. Fischer provided the decisive victory in a battle against Alice Ferlito at court one. After taking the opening set 7-5, Fischer solidified the match with a 6-4 second set win.
To earn her 12
th win of the 2024-25 season,
Maxi Duncan added the other Crimson point, defeating Maren Urata (Princeton) with a convincing 6-4, 6-1 result at the No. 5 spot.
The Crimson avenged two previous losses to the Tigers earlier this season and snapped a 10-match skid against the foe.
