MURFREESBORO, TN – No. 73 Harvard women's tennis 2024-25 campaign came to a close this afternoon as it fell to No. 17 UCLA, 4-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Crimson battled tightly against the Bruins through most of doubles play but was ultimately bested as UCLA won on court one and two to secure a 1-0 lead.
The Bruins carried their momentum into singles, taking the first set 6-1 on each of the top three courts. Harvard, however, continued to battle as it pressured its opponents on the next three courts.
Kavya Karra looked strong in her abandoned contest, winning the first set 6-4 and being one game away from blanking her opponent in the second set.
Kate Kim and
Maxi Duncan were fighting on courts four and five but UCLA was ultimately able to close the match with identical 6-1, 6-2 decisions in the top three matches.
