No. 1 Women’s Squash Defeats No. 7 Cornell, 9-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's squash continued its strong start to the season this afternoon by earning its second consecutive 3-0 sweep against the Cornell Big Red. The Crimson (4-0, 3-0 Ivy) logged eight 3-0 wins in the match to take the win against the No. 7 Big Red (5-3, 1-1 Ivy).
 

How it Happened

Harvard hosted Cornell at the Murr Center this afternoon in its fourth match of the 2025-26 campaign. The Crimson was looking to continue its strong start to the season against a challenging Big Red side.
 
The Crimson secured three consecutive victories in the first wave to take a 3-0 lead out of the gates. Jomana Ahmed was first on the board for the Crimson, posting a 3-0 victory while outscoring her opponent, 33-14, at sixes. Dixon Hill continued her strong play with a 3-0 win at sevens. Caroline Fouts powered through in her match at ones, defeating her foe, 3-0, in a win that featured two tie-break wins in the second and third games.
 
 Harvard continued to roll, sweeping the second wave of matches to secure the victory against Cornell. Molly Stoltz led the charge with a 3-0 sweep at nines, while outscoring her opponent 33-12. Ona Blasco Puig and Lucie Stefanoni followed suit with a pair of 3-0 wins at fives and twos, respectively. In Stefanoni's match, the junior secured a tiebreak 12-10 win in the final game to sweep the match.
 
Ocean Ma kicked off the final wave of matches with three consecutive 11-9 game wins at fours, sweeping her opponent to secure the victory. Sarita Popat defeated her opponent, 3-1, at eights to continue the Crimson run. Senior captain Saran Nghiem completed the Harvard sweep with a swift 3-0 win at threes.

Up Next

The Crimson will have one more match before a group of Crimson student-athletes complete at the 2026 CSA Individual National Championships. Harvard will take on the No. 3 Stanford Cardinal in New York City this Thursday (Jan. 22) before the National tournament begins on Friday (Jan. 23).
