NEW YORK, N.Y. – Harvard men's and women's squash will each have one representative in the CSA Individual National Championship semifinals after Omar Azzam and Caroline Fouts each advanced to the final four with wins in the quarterfinal round this afternoon. The duo will have the opportunity to compete on the Tournament of Champions glass court inside Grand Central Station with a spot in the National Championship match on the line. Azzam's match is set to start at 12:15 PM with Fouts competing right after (1:00 PM) at Grand Central.
 

Tournament Updates

• Omar Azzam continued his incredible run at the national tournament with another epic victory in his quarterfinal bout. Azzam won the first two games before narrowly falling in the third and fourth. The Egyptian posted a hard-fought 11-9 victory in the decisive fifth game to capture a 3-2 win.
• Two members of the Crimson, Caroline Fouts and Saran Nghiem, met in the quarterfinal round in what became a classic dual. Nghiem won the first two games of the match to take control. Fouts battled her way back in the third game, winning 12-10 to force a fourth game. After an 11-3 win, Fouts continued the rally, winning 11-8 to post an epic comeback victory.
• Lucie Stefanoni battled hard in her quarterfinal match but would fall, 1-3, bringing her tournament to an end. It was the furthest the junior has ever made it in the Ramsay Cup in her career.
• Azzam and Fouts will now move on to compete at Grand Central Terminal tomorrow in the semifinal round. The duo will compete on the Tournament of Champions Glass Court inside the Terminal.
