HARTFORD, Conn. – The top-ranked Harvard women's squash team remained undefeated tonight after earning a hard-fought victory over the No. 5 Trinity Bantams. The Crimson (6-0, 3-0 Ivy) dropped the Bantams on their home courts, using seven consecutive match wins to secure the victory.
 

How it Happened

The Crimson and the Bantams met on Trinity's home courts this afternoon in the annual tilt between the two foes. Harvard was looking to continue its strong start to the season on the road against Trinity, who entered the match as the No. 5 team in the nation.
 
The Bantams took an early lead in the match after picking up a pair of wins in the first wave. Trinity took the points at fours and eights after the Bantams posted 3-0 and 3-1 wins on those courts, respectively. Saran Nghiem fought back for the Crimson, earning a hard-fought 3-1 win over her opponent at threes. Nghiem fell in the first game but rallied to win the next three including a swift 11-2 win the second game. The senior cut into the Bantams lead to make the score 2-1 after the first wave.
 
Dixon Hill kicked off the second wave with a swift 3-0 win at sevens, outscoring her foe 33-19 in the match. Caroline Fouts put Harvard on the brink of clinching the match with a 3-1 win on the top of the ladder. The sophomore and her opponent traded the first two games of the bout before Fouts captured the last two to earn the victory. Ona Blasco Puig secured the win for Harvard with a 3-1 win at fives.
 
Joman Ahmed, Lucie Stefanoni and Molly Stoltz closed out the victory for Harvard with a trio of wins in the third wave. Ahmed and Stefanoni both claimed 3-1 victories at sixes and twos, respectively while Stoltz swept her opponent at nines to cap off a 7-2 win for the Crimson.
