No. 1 Women’s Squash Falls to No. 2 Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 1 Harvard women's squash team concluded its Ivy League schedule of matches this afternoon with a loss to the No. 2 Princeton Tigers. The Crimson (7-2, 4-2 Ivy) dropped a decision to the Tigers (11-1, 6-0 Ivy) to earn the Ivy League title. The loss brought Harvard's Ivy League Championship run to a close at nine consecutive seasons.
 

How it Happened

The Crimson closed out its Ivy League schedule this afternoon with a match against the Princeton Tigers in New Jersey. The match represented a meeting of the top two teams in the College Squash Association.
 
Princeton swept the first wave of matches, taking wins at fives, eights and threes to build an early 3-0 lead on the Crimson. Sarita Popat nearly had the result at eights but fell in the decisive fifth game. The Tigers secured the win with another sweep in the second wave. The team took the results at nines, fours and twos to improve its lead to 6-0 and clinch the match. Lucie Stefanoni played in a competitive match at twos but could not overcome an early deficit to fall 3-1.
 
Harvard secured two wins in the final wave at ones and sixes. Caroline Fouts won her match 3-1, defeating the 2026 CSA Individual National Champion, Zeina Zein, in a rematch of the title contest. The sophomore won two matches in tiebreaks to secure the win. Princeton took the final match at sevens to post a 7-2 victory.
