HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Crimson took seven of the dual's 10 bouts, captured five consecutive bout wins from 149 to 184 pounds, and tallied three bonus-point wins as Harvard University wrestling defeated Hofstra University, 25-9, on Sunday afternoon at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center.

Facing a 6-3 deficit through three bouts, the Crimson (5-6) rattled off five straight wins to pull ahead 22-6 on its way to the victory over the host Pride (3-13).

Three Crimson –
Jimmy Harrington,
Jack Crook, and
Joseph Cangro – picked up bonus-point wins on the day behind a technical fall from Harrington and major decisions from Crook and Cangro. Both Harrington and Crook went 2-0 on the weekend alongside wins at Columbia on Saturday.

Logan Brzozowski,
Haden Bottiglieri,
Matthew Walsh, and
Daniel Bittner – added victories via decisions. Bittner won in sudden victory at 285 pounds to close out the match.
Harvard Highlights
- Harvard won seven of the dual's 10 bouts, including five in a row from 149 to 184 pounds.
- As a team, the Crimson held advantages in total match points (79-35) and takedowns (20-3).
- Logan Brzozowski opened the day with a 12-7 win over Teague Strobel. Brzozowski notched a pair of takedowns in the first period and five points in the third period on his way to the win.
- Jack Crook put the Crimson back in front in the team score, 8-6, behind a 22-7 technical fall over Alex Turley in 4:52 at 149 pounds. Crook tallied 12 points behind four takedowns in the first period and tacked on 10 more points, including three takedowns, in the second stanza.
- Jimmy Harrington put the visitors up 12-6 in the team score with a 9-0 shutout major decision at 157 pounds. He posted a takedown in the first period, an escape in the second stanza, and five points in the third period in the victory.
- Joseph Cangro gave Harvard a 16-6 lead in the team score behind an 11-0 shutout major decision at 165 pounds. Cangro notched a takedown in the opening period, four points in the second period, and another four points in the third.
- Haden Bottiglieri extended the Crimson's lead in the team score to 19-6 with a 13-7 win at 174 pounds over Josh Jorgge. He compiled two takedowns in the first period and another takedown in the second as part of his win.
- Matthew Walsh added a 6-3 decision at 184 pounds to stake Harvard to a 22-6 lead in the team score. He registered a takedown in the first period, an escape in the second, another escape in the third, and a point for riding time.
- Daniel Bittner closed out the match with a 4-1 win in sudden victory at 285 pounds over Adrian Sans. After each wrestler scored a point in regulation, Bittner notched a takedown inside of the final five seconds of the sudden-victory period.Â
