MEDFORD, Mass. – The No. 1 Harvard women's squash team bounced back in a big way this evening by earning a 9-0 sweep of No. 11 Tufts. The Crimson (8-2, 4-2 Ivy) capped off its regular season schedule with a sweep of the Jumbos (11-7) to earn its eighth victory of the season.
How it Happened
The Crimson made the short trip up the road this evening to take on the Tufts Jumbos in Medford in the team's final regular season match. The Crimson dropped just a two games in an eventual 9-0 sweep of the Jumbos, giving the team momentum heading into the Ivy League Tournament this weekend.
At the top of the ladder, Harvard's top three posted convincing wins to lead the way. Carolien Fouts won 3-0 while outscoring her opponent 33-16 at the top of the ladder and
Lucie Stefanoni had a similar result, outscoring her foe 33-17 in a 3-0 win.
Ocean Ma played up a position at threes in the match and secured another Crimson sweep while outscoring her opponent 33-15.
In the middle of the ladder,
Ona Blasco Puig secured a 3-1 win at fours, winning the final two games by a combined score of 22-6.
Dixon Hill posted a 3-0 win in her first career match in the fifth position on the Crimson ladder.
Jomana Ahmed came away with a 3-0 win at sixes, outscoring her foe 33-16 in a 3-0 sweep.
Ella Galova got the start in the match, playing in the seventh position for the Crimson. The junior led 2-1 before her opponent was forced to retire from the match.
Molly Stoltz played up at eights for Harvard and posted two clutch wins (15-13, 12-10) in the final two games to complete a 3-0 sweep.
Migyu Kim made her career debut for Harvard in the match, playing at the ninth position on the ladder. Kim raced to a 3-0 victory in her match with a combined score of 33-16.
The 9-0 result was Harvard's fifth clean sweep of the season.
