FORT MYERS, Fla. – Harvard women's tennis (9-5) improved its winning streak to five this afternoon with a 4-2 victory over Florida Gulf Coast.
The Crimson opened the contest by cruising to a 1-0 lead following doubles.
Kate Kim and
Claire Shao struck first with a 6-1 result on court two.
Natalie Block and
Natasha Rajaram then secured the doubles point with an equally as impressive, 6-2, win on court three.
The Eagles got on the board with a win on court four but Block dominated in straight sets on court five, defeating Sabrina Jaramillo, 6-0, 6-3.
FGCU once again tied the match following a victory on court two but
Andra Braicu quickly gave the Crimson the lead back. The first-year defeated Anjali Kotecha (FGCU) with a pair of 6-2 decision to put Harvard up 3-2 in the match.
Kavya Karra then sealed the Crimson win with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over June Bjork (FGCU) on court two.
