Amanda Sobhy ‘15 Inducted into CSA Squash Hall of Fame

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Amanda Sobhy '15, one of the greatest student-athletes in the history of the Harvard Squash program, has been inducted into the College Squash Association (CSA) Hall of Fame for her remarkable collegiate career with the Crimson, the organization announced today.

Part of the 2026 class, Sobhy cements herself in collegiate squash history with her induction into the Hall of Fame. One of the most decorated players in the history of college squash, Sobhy's achievements rise above the rest.

In her time with the Crimson, Sobhy never lost an individual match, going 62-0. Sobhy won four individual national titles and Ramsay Cups, four Ivy-League Player of the Year awards, four All-America honors, four All-Ivy First Team nominations, and helped lead Harvard to three Howe Cup National Championships.

A Sea Cliff, N.Y. native, she was constantly surrounded by Squash. Growing up, she trained with her dad Khaled, brother Omar, and her sister Sabrina; who also enjoyed a storied career with the Crimson, winning two Ivy League Player of the Year awards, along with CSA All-America honors.

Before her collegiate career, the N.Y. product was a prominent squash talent, winning the Junior Squash Championship at 17 in 2010, making her the first American to win the contest. After her time in college, Sobhy turned professional, where she enjoyed likewise success winning five U.S. National titles and cracking the top five in the PSA world rankings, the first American to accomplish this feat.

Professionally, Sobhy has become a trailblazer, breaking records while enjoying a successful international and professional career. Sobhy made history at the 2015 Pan-American Games where she became the first squash athlete to win three gold medals at the event, with wins coming in the Women's singles, doubles, and team championships. In 2016 she became the first American born player to reach the finals of the Tournament of Champions on the PSA Tour.

The best year of her professional career came in 2021, where she reached No. 3 in the World Rankings. This came with a string of impressive tournament finishes, such as reaching the semifinals of the PSA World Championship, making her the first American-born player to do so. Additionally, she reached the semifinals of the CIB Egyptian Open, the British Open, and won the Oracle Netsuite Open.

Even with all she has accomplished on the Junior, Collegiate, and Professional success, Sobhy is not done yet. Ranked No. 11 in the world - and 2nd amongst Americans - she recently competed in the 2026 US Steel City Open, where she reached the semifinals, following a decisive victory against her sister Sabrina in the quarter finals.

This honor is the pinnacle of her incredible college squash career adding this to her already packed trophy case. Sobhy joins four former Harvard Squash student-athletes in the Hall of Fame after her induction today.
