CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis (12-10, 2-5 Ivy) battled but ultimately fell 4-2 to Cornell in its regular season finale this afternoon at the Murr Center.
The Big Red opened the contest with an early lead after winning the doubles point with victories on courts one and three. Despite dropping the first point of the day,
Natalie Block and
Natasha Rajaram recorded a dominant 6-1 win on court two.
Cornell pulled further ahead with wins on courts two and three before Block got the Crimson on the board. The junior defeated Dylan Gelber with a convincing 6-2, 6-4 win on court four.
Rajaram then cut further into the deficit with a three-set win on court five. After falling 6-0 in the first set, the sophomore responded and dropped just three games across the next two sets.
Despite the Crimson battling back, the Big Red eventually sealed the match with a win on court six.
