CLEVELAND – After a successful and memorable winter season, Harvard Athletics checks in at No. 27 in the latest Learfield Directors' Cup winter standings rankings. The Crimson is the top ranked athletic department in both New England and Massachusetts. In the Football Championship Subdivision, Harvard holds the No. 2 spot.
At the 2026 NCAA Fencing Championships, both the men's and women's teams finished in fourth in the team standings, pacing the Crimson's scoring during the winter season. Harvard's skiing program finished in 16
th at the 2026 NCAA Skiing Championships in Utah last month as well. Along with strong team performances in skiing and fencing, stellar individual showings at the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships, 2026 NCAA Track & Field Championships and the 2026 NCAA Women's and Men's Swimming and Diving Championships paced Harvard's scoring efforts this winter in the Learfield Directors' Cup.

Erin McDermott, Harvard finished in 34
th in the Learfield Directors' Cup Standings during the 2024-25 academic year, while the 2023-24 academic year saw Harvard finish in 29
th place, the best performance in school history.
A joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and USA Today, the point tally for the Learfield Directors' Cup is based on each institution's finish at NCAA Championship events.
