CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Devon Wills, The Carole Kleinfelder Head Coach for Harvard Women's Lacrosse, Annabel Child '25, and Ilana Kofman '24 are all set to take part in the 2026 World Lacrosse Women's Championship in Tokyo, Japan from July 24 to August 2 with games set to take place at Oi Stadium and Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium.
 
Wills will serve as an assistant coach for Team USA while Child and Kofman will compete as athletes for Team Canada and Team Israel respectively.
 
Group stage games will take place from July 24-28 prior to the knockout rounds and placement games from July 29 to August 2.
 
Team USA will compete in Group A alongside Haudenosaunee, Ireland, and Chinese Taipei. Canada will take part in Group B alongside Australia, Germany, and Wales while Israel will play in Group D against Czechia, Japan, and the Philippines.
 
The event will feature the top women's lacrosse athletes in the world with a new 16-team format for the elite-level world championship. All teams earned their spots in the field through continental qualifiers and were drawn into four pools ahead of the race for the eight-team playoffs.
 
The World Lacrosse Women's Championship has been contested 11 times, beginning in 1982 and most recently in 2022 in Towson, Maryland. The field started at six teams, increased to 10 teams by 2005, and was at 29 teams in 2022. The United States has claimed nine gold medals while Australia has won twice.
