Women’s Soccer Ends Homestand with 4-0 Win Over Fairfield

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's soccer (1-2-0, 0-0-0 Ivy) recorded its first win of the 2026 season in dominant fashion this afternoon, defeating Fairfield (2-2-1, 0-0-0 MAAC) 4-0 at Jordan Field.

Four different Harvard student-athletes scored in the contest including Molly Vana and Camila Reinaldo recording their first career goals.

How it Happened

  • The Crimson attacked the goal early and often, finding its way on the scoreboard just three minutes into the contest. Off a corner, Írena Héðinsdóttir Gonzalez found Jasmine Leshnick capitalized for her second goal in as many games.
  • The Crimson wasted no time growing its lead as Molly Vana connected with her fellow freshman forward Brooke Huleatt for the second goal of the game in just the seventh minute.
  • Harvard continued to control the momentum being rewarded with four corners and getting off five more shots across the next 10 minutes. Then, in the 17th-minute Vana found the net herself off a corner kick from Héðinsdóttir Gonzalez and a touch from Huleatt. Less than 17 minutes into the game, the Crimson had already cemented itself up three goals.
  • The first half was dominated by the Crimson as it got off double the number of shots and was awarded six corner kicks to the Stags' two. Additionally, Harvard held possession of the ball for over 60% of the half.
  • Looking to put together a full 90 minutes, the Crimson refused to take its foot off the gas and added its fourth goal of the contest less than two minutes into the second half. Camila Reinaldo capitalized for her first career collegiate goal off assists from Huleatt and Elsa Santos Lopez.
  • The Stags got off six more shots in the second half but the Crimson defense stood tall and secured its first shutout of the season.

Harvard Highlights

  • Three of Harvard's four goals came from freshman including Molly Vana and Camila Reinaldo recording their first career goals. Today's goal marked Brooke Huleatt's second of the season.
  • Huleatt finished the evening with a goal and two assists in 47 minutes played. Vana also tallied both an assist and a goal.
  • Jasmine Leshnick found the back of the net for the second straight match.
  • Nicole Bidun and Olivia Busby shared the night in the goal and both made two saves and allowed zero goals.
  • The Crimson controlled the ball throughout the contest, possessing it for nearly 60% of the match, getting off 18 shots, and being awarded 13 corners.

Next Up

The Crimson will hit the road for the first time this season to face Syracuse on Sunday, August 30 at 1:00 p.m. ET in New York.
