CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The three-time defending NIRA 15s national champion Harvard Women's Rugby team will kick off its 2026 fall campaign on the road this Saturday, Sept. 5, at 11 a.m., as the Crimson travel to face Sacred Heart. The season opener, which serves as the Pioneers' Senior Day, will take place at Park Ave Field in Fairfield, Connecticut, and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Harvard enters the 2026 campaign after a historic 2025-26 run, becoming the first NCAA Division I program to secure four 15s national titles. Under the continued leadership of head coach Mel Denham, the Crimson aim to protect its championship pedigree and launch their quest for a fourth consecutive 15s national crown.

• All-Time Series vs. Sacred Heart: Harvard holds a dominant track record against the Pioneers. In their last 15s meeting during the 2025 season, the Crimson powered to a decisive 50-17 victory on home soil. The last time Harvard traveled to SHU in 2024, they edged out the Pioneers in a hard-fought 25-20 battle.
• Notable Returning Firepower: The attack features sophomore Gemma Ogoke, who earned First-Team All-NIRA honors after leading Harvard with nine tries during the 15s season as a first-year. Standout sophomores Sana'a Lunon and Madelyn Hubbell, who each posted 40 points last season, also return after a stellar summer competing with the USA Rugby Women's U20 National Team in South Africa.
• Decade at the Helm: Head coach Mel Denham officially enters her landmark 10th season leading the Crimson program. Under her guidance, Harvard has captured four NIRA National Championships and solidified its status as an elite national powerhouse.
• The Incoming Class of 2030: Harvard has added an influx of young talent with a six-member first-year class arriving for the 15s fall season. The incoming first-year group features Teagan Barth, Grace Houts, Jayelle Jones, Mackenzie Marks, Lolua Tauanu'u, and Molly Young.
