Carlin Joyal

Carlin Joyal joined the Harvard men’s lacrosse staff as the Director of Lacrosse Operation in August of 2024.

Joyal joined the Crimson after coaching the Lindenwood men's lacrosse team at the DI level as the defensive coordinator during the 2023 season. 

A graduate from Merrimack College in Massachusetts, Joyal received a master’s degree in management with a concentration in organizational leadership in 2022. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus in marketing and sports management. Joyal was a President’s List student twice, and Dean’s list student four times. He was named to the NEILA All-Academic Team in 2021 and 2022.

The Longmeadow, Massachusetts native was a three-time captain at Merrimack and a vital member of the Warrior’s defense. Over Joyal’s six-year career he played in 71 games while starting 50 of those games. Joyal was a key contributor to a defense that helped the Warriors win back-to-back Division II National Titles in 2018 and 2019. After the 2019 season, Joyal led the team with 24 caused turnovers while his 50 ground balls were the most by any non-faceoff specialist.
 
Joyal was named USILA Preseason All-American, and NEILA All-New England First Team Long Stick Midfielder in 2019. He helped the Warriors win the 2018 Northeast-10 Conference Title.

Carlin is the son of Roland and Kris Joyal. He has an older brother Conrad, and younger brother Cooper who played lacrosse at Assumption University and now plays at Merrimack College.
