Sophomore (2023-24)
Posted an overall record of 7-5 on the season … Primarily played at the ninth spot on the Crimson ladder where he went 5-3 … Earned the win at the No. 8 position against Northeastern (Nov. 15) with a 3-0 sweep … Picked up a 3-1 win at the No. 9 position in the match against No. 10 Dartmouth (Nov. 29) … Was victorious in his match at the No. 9 position against Virginia’s Patrick Keller, winning 3-1 to help the Crimson defeat the No. 8 Cavaliers (Dec. 2) … Swept his opponent at the No. 7 position to help Harvard earn the win over No. 16 MIT (Jan. 11) … Came away with a thrilling 3-2 win over No. 3 Yale’s Brian Leonard at the No. 9 position to help Harvard defeat the Bulldogs (Jan. 19) … Defeated Daniel Simon of No. 4 Trinity, 3-1, in his match at No. 9 (Jan. 21) … Defeated Darien Benn of No. 8 Drexel, 3-0, at the No. 9 position (Feb. 17).
First-Year (2022-23)
Complied a record of 9-3 at various position in first collegiate season…Had the match clinching win on five separate occasions throughout the season…Made Harvard debut against No. 10 Rochester on Nov. 12, defeating Quinlan Jeudy (Rochester), 3-0 (11-9, 11-4, 11-1)…Appeared at the No. 5 position against Brown, winning 3-0 (11-5, 11-8, 11-2)…Clinched the win over No. 9 Columbia by defeating Sameer Saxena 3-0 (11-7, 11-8, 11-6) to secure the Crimson first Ivy League Championship since 2019.
Before Harvard
Member of the Malaysia National team…Served as the team captain for the Penang state team for five years (2016-2021)…Three time National Inter School Champion (2016, 2018, 2019)…Five year member (2016-2021) of SMK Bukit Jambul high school squash team…Awarded Sportsman of the Year Award three times throughout high school (2018-2020)…Father, Atul Shah, was a national hockey player for Malaysia and represented Malaysia in the World Junior Olympics and the World Veteran Olympics…Enjoys music and playing the drums and guitar in addition to playing squash.
