Darcy Wilson is in her eighth season as the Throws coach with the Harvard track and field team. Her primary focus is the men's and women's throws: shot, discus, hammer & weight.

Harvard throwers sprung out of the Covid era into a fierce campaign of achieving 4 new school records.  During the 2021-22 indoor season, first-year Kenny Ikeji dislodged the long-held weight record from 1988 (19.73m) to 21.20m as well as Alexander Kolesnikoff blasting the shot-put record from 1969 (18.74m) to 19.05m. During the outdoor campaign, the crusade continued with two more school records falling.  Ikeji trounced the hammer record from 1980 (65.02m) to 69.01m for his first Ivy Heps Championship, while Sam Welsh put a capstone on his Harvard career by taking down the 1992 (62.48m) discus school record, setting a new mark at 63.26m.  This garnered Sam a final Heps Championship, Most Outstanding Field Athlete, Ivy League School Record and an auto qualifying mark for USATF Senior Nationals.

The 2021-22 year included lifetime personal bests for the following women: Estel Valeanu, discus, 56.07m  (including and an appearance in the European Throwing Cup in Leira. Portugal), shot-put 14.10m, hammer 52.94m; Meaghan Toscano shot-put 14.21m, discus 43.83m; Chelsea Offiaeli shot-put 14.58m; Cammy Garabian weight throw 18.16m, hammer 56.07; Sarah Omoregie shot-put 16.10m.

Previously, Wilson guided her throws squad to a campaign of success in the 2020-21 season. group, breaking two school records, with one qualifying for the US Olympic Trials. Sophomore Alexander Kolesnikoff set the men's shot-put record at 19.81 (65'); Sophomore Stephanie Ratcliffe set the women's hammer record at 61.81 (202' 9"); Sam Welsh qualified for the Olympic Trials in Eugene, OR with a PB of 59.74 (195' 12").  Wrapping up the year was Sophomore Estel Valeanu with a PB in the discus of 55.32 (181' 6")

The 2018-19 season saw success behind Wilson's leadership as freshmen Sam Welsh won the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships discus throw on the men's side, 2nd place shot put /Male Field athlete of the meet; National Qualifier-6th place All-American at NCAA (top finishing freshmen in the country); Outdoor Nationals USA discus qualifier/12th in the country while being youngest qualifier.

Wilson joins the Harvard staff after spending the earlier four seasons at Brown, where her student-athletes broke program records in the men's and women's discus, men's hammer and women's javelin. Finding success across multiple events, Wilson's tenure saw 40 athletes added to the program's all-time top-10 lists, with a handful of throwers qualifying for NCAA Championships.

Prior to her stint at Brown, Wilson coached three years apiece at Massachusetts and Keene State with a National Hammer champion. She is an active member of USA Track & Field Coaching.
