Beth Doran re-joined the program in the 2016-17 academic year as Director of Lacrosse Operations for Harvard women’s lacrosse, entering her 11th year in that role in 2026-27. Doran brings years of coaching and administrative experience to her role with the Crimson where she handles operations for the program.

Prior to her current role at Harvard, Doran also represented the Crimson as assistant coach of the women’s basketball program from 1981-87. She was a part of Kathy Delaney-Smith’s coaching staff in 1985-86, when Harvard clinched its first-ever Ivy League title in either men’s or women’s basketball with a 20-7 (9-3 Ivy League) record.

She also served as an assistant coach of Harvard women’s lacrosse on Carole Kleinfelder’s staff, with the Crimson winning Ivy League titles in 1982 and 1983.

Doran concluded a successful career as a manufacturer’s representative in the Sporting Goods industry, working notably with Speedo, where she was named Account Executive of the Year in 2014.

A 1979 graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Physical Education, Doran was a four-year letter winner and co-captain (1978-79) on the UNH women’s lacrosse team, which finished the ’79 season ranked third in the country. She was also a member of the UNH field hockey team (1975-77).

Doran and her husband Mark, reside in Newton, Mass., with their two children.
