Laura Comeau

Former Virginia goalkeeper Laura Comeau was named the coachingassistant for the Harvard women’s soccer team on July 30,2010.

In her first year working with Harvard's goalkeepers, the Crimsonrecorded five shutouts, including three by sophomore AlexandraMillet. 

Comeau, a native of New Hampshire,  was a goalkeeper for theCavaliers from 2005-08 and played for the United States Under-19Women’s National Team from 2002-04. She helped the U.S. winthe bronze medal and FIFA Fair Play Award at the 2004 WorldChampionships in Thailand.

During the summer of 2005, Comeau was the starting goalkeeper forthe W-League Boston Renegades, and following her playing career atVirginia, she remained active in the Cavalier’s socceroffice, serving as an administrative assistant from 2007-09. In that role, Comeau worked with camp organization anddistribution, as well as team alumni correspondence and assistingin data input.

Most recently, Comeau was an assistant and goalkeeping coach atLees-McRae College since 2009.  Comeau was responsible for allgoalkeeping training, recruiting, film work, scouting reports,preparing and executing training sessions, acting as academicadvisor for the team, as well as reconnecting the program withalumni, fundraising and helping organize community serviceprojects.

Comeau has been a U.S. Youth Soccer Region I Olympic DevelopmentProgram coach since 2009, as well as a volunteer coach withSeacoast United Soccer Club since 2004.  In addition, she hasbeen a member of the camp staff for SoccerPlus since 2007 andpreviously worked as an assistant coach and goalkeeping instructorfor Soccer Organization Charlottesville-Albemarle from 2007-09.

Comeau graduated from Virginia in 2009 with a degree insociology.
